just once: rhetorical analysis
Similar to the project rational, I had difficulty making the writing in this paper “flow”. To me, it seemed too choppy like “interview mode.” In addition to that, I wasn’t able to elaborate on anything. In the paper there were only answers and no real reasoning. I felt I could have improved by simply elaborating more and giving some in depth explanation. Through this assignment, I learned that I struggled most with going into detail. I felt that the main points were all there, keeping the assignment short and concise, but without any supporting evidence, it’s just words on paper.
I took feedback from my classmates regarding length and detail. I compiled the set of questions which helped build more structure. I also worked on making the piece sound “better” by reading through and making changes accordingly. Finally, I corrected grammatical errors here and there as a final stage of revising.
Through this assignment, I learned a few things, the first being to have good arguments. With strong arguments you can convince audiences by building credibility and logical reasoning. Without it, your words are just words and are basically meaningless. Next is to be aware of your audience. You can’t influence everyone, so you must know who it is you want to appeal to and narrow your target for that certain crowd.
