Multi-genre project
Compared to the first part of the multi-genre project, I thought the project rational was much more difficult. When making the actual genres I had the freedom to do what I wanted with the only real restriction being that I needed variety. This in itself wasn’t much a problem as it allowed me to go out of my comfort zone and explore different methods of writing. As long as I followed a genre’s purpose and its features you could distinguish one genre from another.
What you wanted to see in the project rational seemed clear enough, however, for some reason I still struggled with the assignment. Rather than the creativity of each genre, the paper seemed too binding. The writing itself got me the most because it seemed like I was too busy trying to make it sound good rather than focusing on the actual content.
In my revisions, I tried to go more in depth with structure, how the ideas organized in the genre and how the organization privileged certain ideas over others. I also tried emphasizing format and language; what visual elements seem to be expected and what level of formality is found in word choice.
