1. Writing rhetorical situations
Writing rhetorical situations was a daybook entry that exemplified critical reading and thinking skills. In this entry, I had to access a certain situation and decide how to respond. For this specific example, I had to write to Miss E., cancelling plans and skipping class. Critical thinking was put to practice when accessing the situation and thinking skills were used to respond to the situation in the most appropriate manner. I questioned how I was going to approach the situation and asked myself how I will go about avoiding class. I weighed both sides of going to not going, as well as the different arguments to use. Finally, I compared multiple media uses and decided which would be the most appropriate for the situation at hand.
